Our Story

Ten Paces is a collaborative project bringing together a community of illustrators and designers. Each week Ten Paces offers a unique challenge allowing sketches to be made and swapped between artists. The results of these swaps are always exciting and a great learning experience for all who participate.

Ten Paces and Draw began in April of 2011 when Rachel and Alyssa moved to Philadelphia. There was a lull in paying jobs and the pair wanted an excuse to do some fun work, and collaborate with friends. From this desire to be proactive illustrators Ten Paces was born. We’ve since snowballed into an awesome community of artists, growing from 5 contributors to over 120 in a little under a year. We’re excited to share our project with like minded artists, and we’re constantly experimenting, growing, and scheming how to take over the art world.

You can check out our ever-growing list of contributors here, and find out how you can contribute here. We love to talk, and brainstorm new ideas for projects and collaborations, so we’d love to hear from you! Also, fun fact – Ten Paces and Draw was almost named “Illustration Bobsled”. It’s important to us that everyone pay homage to the amazing name that never was.
